The Outcome - Dress Vs Jumpsuit

Para mim esta escolha não foi difícil, amo de paixão jumpsuits, acho-os bastante versáteis,  jogando com os acessórios podemos passar do trabalho ao lazer num ápice sem perder a sofisticação, e super cómodos, com o corte e tecidos certos podem tornar-se verdadeiros aliados fashion.

For me this wasn't a difficult choice, I love jumpsuits, I find them quite versatile, playing with accessories we can go from work to leisure at a glance without losing the sophistication, and super comfortable, with the right cut and fabric they can become real fashion allies.

O look vestido é um belo exemplo de 'good look gone wrong', tinha tudo para dar certo mas, para o meu gosto pessoal, a saia é um pouco curta demais para uns saltos tão altos e tão vermelhos, o que faz com que o conjunto perca a sofisticação e sobriedade que mais uns centímetros de pano trariam ao look.

 

Com este vestido em particular prefiro usar umas sabrinas ou sandálias para um estilo mais casual ou até uns ténis/sapatilhas para um look sport chic. Mas fica a intenção que em teoria funcionava na perfeição.

 

The dress is a beautiful example of a  ' good look gone wrong ', had everything to work but, for my personal taste, the skirt is a little bit too short for such high and red heels, which causes the set to lose the sophistication and sobriety that a few more inches of cloth would bring to the look.   

With this dress in particular I prefer using some flats  for a more casual style or even sneakers/tennis shoes for a sport chic look. But nonetheless in theory it functioned flawlessly.

Apesar do wordrobe malfunction do look Vestido a minha escolha seria sempre o Jumpsuit!

E vocês, arriscariam o look Vestido ou jogariam pelo seguro com o look Jumpsuit?

 

Despite the dress look ‘wardrobe malfunction’  my choice would always be the Jumpsuit!

Outfit Battle Shorts Vs Pants - The Outcome

Neste desafio tivemos frente a frente as calças e os calções. Nenhum dos dois conjuntos é simples. Embora do mesmo material e conjugado com as mesmas peças e acessórios, excepto as carteiras sobre as quais já irei falar, tanto as calças como os calções não são ao gosto da maioria das fashionistas.

 

In this challenge pants and shorts went face to face. None of the two sets is simple. Although of the same material and in conjunction with the same parts and accessories, except the bags that are different, both pants and shorts are not to the taste of most fashionistas. 

 

Por um lado as calças com feitio 'saruel' não são consensuais, há quem abomine por completo este corte, no entanto na minha opinião quando bem conjugadas, poderão ser bastante versáteis num estilo mais descontraído/chic. De grande importância é o tipo de material e padrão. Um tecido demasiado estruturado ou um padrão demasiado preenchido pode ser um risco. Para não errar aconselho tecidos mais leves e fluidos e padrões mais simples ou sem padrão de todo.

Para o look calças preferi esta maxi carteira Melissa em dourado para cortar um pouco a 'formalidade' dos sapatos mas ao mesmo tempo para ir buscar o tom dourado dos mesmos. Há muito tempo que foi desmistificado o facto de que para estar bem vestida a mulher precisar de combinar o sapato com a carteira, e ainda bem, isto permite conjugações muito mais estimulantes e divertidas, e a mistura de estilos é sempre uma mais valia num look. Pessoalmente gosto muito de escolher a carteira a partir do padrão/cor do top/vestido, como aconteceu no look calções, acho que fica uma combinação muito mais interessante.

On one hand the pants with ‘saruel’ style are not consensual, some people simply hate this style of pants, however in my opinion when well combined, they can be quite versatile in a more relaxed/’chic’ style. Of great importance is the type of material and pattern. A too structured fabric or a too filled pattern can be a risk. An advice is to use lighter and fluid tissues and simpler patterns or no pattern at all.

For the look pants I preferred this maxi wallet Melissa in gold to cut a bit the ' formality ' of the shoes but at the same time to get the Golden hue of them. The fact that to be well-dressed women need to combine the shoe with the wallet was demystified a long time ago, this allows for much more stimulating and entertaining conjugations, and the mixture of styles is always an asset in a look. Personally I like to choose the bag taking inspiration from the top/dress color or pattern, as happened in the shorts look, I think it's a lot more interesting combination.

Os calções também não são bem aceites pela maioria por diferentes razões, por questão de idade, por dar um ar demasiado descontraído ou simplesmente por não terem 'pernas' para os usar. Posso dizer que uso mais calções agora do que usava quando era mais nova, talvez porque a idade nos traga muito mais segurança em nós e no nosso corpo, mas como em tudo acho que é sempre uma questão de bom senso e bom gosto. Nunca gostei de calções/saias demasiado curtos, e continuo a não gostar, mas admito que é uma peça que quando bem conjugada é um item 'obrigatório' para os climas mais quentes. E dependendo dos complementos ou acessórios tanto pode ser estrela num look informal ou num mais sofisticado.

Para este look achei que a carteira Melissa seria demasiado grande e optei por esta em padrão 'damas' P&B a puxar os tons do crop top às riscas, também ele P&B.

Embora seja um pouco arriscado saltos altos com calções, estes sapatos em particular, pelo facto de serem fechados e stilletos, acabam por dar um ar sofisticado ao look sem roçar o mau gosto.

The shorts are also not well accepted by the majority for different reasons, by a matter of age, for giving an overly relaxed or simply for not having the ' legs ' to use them. I can say that I wear shorts more often now than I did when I was younger, maybe because the age brings us a lot more confidence in us and in our bodies, but as in everything else I think it is always a matter of common sense and good taste. I never liked shorts/skirts too short, and I still don't, but I admit that it is a piece that when well combined it is a 'must have' item in the warmer climates. And depending on the Add-ons or accessories may it may be worn either in a casual or in a more sophisticated look.  

For this look I thought Melissa bag would be too big so I opted for this B&W bag pulling the shades of the B&W striped crop top. 

Although it is a little risky, putting together high heels with shorts, these shoes in particular, because they are closed stilettos, give an air of sophistication to the outfit without scraping bad taste.

Mais um desafio cujo resultado foi difícil de escolher. Gosto de ambos os looks embora vestido o look calças seja mais confortável enquanto que nas fotos o look calções se torne mais interessante.

Posto isto e depois de muito ponderar o vencedor é... Shorts!

In this challenge it was not easy to choose between the two outfits. I like both looks though the pants look is more comfortable while in the photos the look shorts become more interesting.  

Having said that and after a lot of pondering the winner is ... Shorts!

Outfit Battle - The Outcome

Nestes dois looks não há muito a dizer, com silhuetas tão semelhantes a diferença está mesmo na cor e na mistura mais arrojada de padrões do conjunto vermelho, tudo um questão de gostos.

Estes sapatos da Zara comprei em vermelho e azul porque os achei muito versáteis e o salto médio torna-os confortáveis mas ao mesmo tempo sofisticados.

Ambos os conjuntos são bastante requintados, no entanto no uso do crop top tem sempre de imperar o bom senso, e para alguns contextos, como por exemplo para alguns locais de trabalho, estes outfits são demasiado 'reveladores', para os tornar mais work appropriate, basta trocar o crop por um top mais comprido.

O twin-set, tenho de dedicar um post só a ele, amo de paixão esta peça/combinação. Acho o twin-set um must num closet, é o suficiente para dar um toque de sofisticação ao look. Claro que aqui temos uma versão mais 'moderna' do twin-set, mas não deixa de ser algo intemporal e transgeracional. Mas falarei disso posteriormente.

There’s not too much to say about these two looks, with so similar silhouettes the difference is really in the colors and in the bold blend of patterns in the red outfit, it’s all a matter of taste.

I bought these shoes from Zara in red and blue because I found them very versatile, the medium height of the heel makes them comfortable but sophisticated at the same time.

Both sets are quite exquisite, however  the crop top must always be carefully used, and in some contexts, like for example in some workplaces, these outfits are too ' revealing ',  to make them more work  appropriate  just change  for a longer top.

I have to dedicate a post to the twin-set, I love this piece/combination. I think the twin-set is a must have in any closet, it gives a touch of sophistication to most looks. Here we have a more 'modern ' version of the twin-set, but nonetheless a timeless piece, but I'll talk about that later.

The Outcome - One Shoulder Vs Heart Shape

Em primeiro lugar peço desculpa pela demora na apresentação do resultado desta batalha de looks. Posto isto vamos lá analisar e anunciar o vencedor.

First of all I apologize for the delay in the presentation of the outcome of this battle of looks. Having said that let's analyze and announce the winner.

Quer-me parecer que esta será a explicação mais curta até agora, isto deve-se em grande parte ao facto de os vestidos serem bastante semelhantes em tudo, na cor, padrão e corte, o que os diferencia é apenas o decote. Escolher entre os dois tipos de decote depende muito do nosso gosto pessoal e/ou visual.

 

Neste caso resolvi dificultar um pouco e no vestido one shoulder resolvi usar a faixa um pouco abaixo do ombro, e porquê, perguntam vocês bem, porque é um 'pormaior' que muda a dinâmica do vestido e isso agrada-me

 

E sem mais explicações para mim o vencedor é sem dúvida... One Shoulder, simplesmente porque sim e porque adoro este tipo de decote.

 

It seems to me that this will be the shortest explanation so far, this is due largely to the fact that the dresses are quite similar, in color, pattern and cut, what sets them apart is just the neckline.

Choose between the two types of cleavage depends on our personal and/or visual taste.   In this case I decided to make it a little bit harder and decided to use  the  one shoulder dress  a little below the shoulder, and why, you ask well, because it changes the dynamics of the dress and I like it.

And without further explanation for me the winner is without a doubt ... One Shoulder, simply because  I love this type of cleavage.

The Outcome - Tartan Vs Animal Print

Esta batalha de looks foi, para mim, a mais difícil até agora. Primeiro porque em termos de padrão gosto muito dos dois, quem acompanha o blog já deve ter reparado que sou apaixonada por animal print (sei que este padrão 'já enjoa' mas não consigo deixar de gostar), mas o padrão Tartan em P&B é perfeito!

Em segundo lugar adoro vestidos bodycon em comprimento midi, acho-os bastante femininos e sexys sem ser demasiado 'reveladores'.
Nestes outfits o corte do decote, embora no look animal print seja em coração e no Tartan seja a direito, é muito semelhante, e acho que favorece bastante. 

Em terceiro os acessórios também não ajudam na escolha. Adorei estas pulseiras em animal print com tons diferentes. Quando as vi achei que tinham sido feitas de propósito para este vestido. As pulseiras P&B são mesmo o meu estilo de pulseiras, da mesma cor mas feitios, materiais e padrões diferentes.

Os sapatos amarelos, acho que são da cor e altura perfeitas, para não ser demasiado 'Jessica Rabbit' mas dar ao mesmo tempo um up ao look.

The decision in this battle of looks was, for me, the most difficult so far. First because in terms of pattern I really like them both, those who follow the blog must know that I am passionate about animal print (I know most people have had enough with this pattern, but I can't help liking it), but the Tartan pattern in B&W is perfect! 

Secondly I love bodycon dresses in midi length, I find them quite feminine and sexy without being too ' revealing '.  In both outfits the cut of the neckline is very similar, and I think it’s very flattering.  

Third the accessories do not help deciding between the looks. I love these bracelets in animal print with different tones. When I saw them I thought they had been made on purpose for this dress. The B&W bracelets are really my style, the same color but different sizes, materials and patterns.

The yellow shoes, in my opinion, have the perfect height and color not to make the look too 'Jessica Rabbit ', but still make it stylish.

 Depois de muito ponderar, decidi que o look vencedor é... Tartan!

E vocês, ainda não se fartaram do padrão animal print ou preferem algo mais intemporal como o padrão tartan P&B?

After much pondering, I decided that the winner is ... Tartan!

The Outcome - Mix Vs Total Look

Aqui está o resultado desta batalha de looks, Mix Vs Total Look.

Neste primeiro look optei por uma super tendência este ano que é o uso de duas peças do mesmo tecido/padrão. As cores também não fogem à tendência, e este padrão é uma excelente interpretação das tão faladas candy colors e padrão floral.

 

Devo confessar que adoro esta tendência duas peças, principalmente com um crop top. Pessoalmente prefiro calças ou calções, mas uma saia lápis midi com um crop top mais larguinho também me parece muito bem.

 

Como já tinha dito na apresentação do look, como o padrão já era suficientemente 'elaborado' apenas utilizei como acessório os sapatos, mas não resisti em abusar um pouco e juntar os meus sapatos Melissa flowers.

 

Here is the result of this battle of looks, Mix Vs Total Look.

In this first look I went for a super trend this year, the use of two pieces of the same fabric/pattern. The colors are also a trend, and this pattern is an excellent interpretation of the so-called candy colors and floral print. 

 I must confess that I love this two pieces trend, mainly with a crop top. Personally I prefer trousers or shorts, but a midi pencil skirt with a crop top most sounds good to me.

Like I said in the presentation of the look, although the pattern is a bit ‘busy’ I couldn't resist putting my not too discreet Melissa flowers shoes.



Neste segundo outfit resolvi tornar o look mais discreto. Mantive a tendência das cores claras e 'doces' mas tendo em conta que a camisa é lisa pude juntar-lhe um colar com algum 'brilho'.

 

Realmente, e como já tinha dito, este tipo de camisa é um must have em qualquer closet. Consigo de imediato imaginar um look com umas ripped jeans, um maxi colar e estes sapatos. Vale a pena investir numa peça assim.

In this second outfit I decided to make the look more discreet. I kept the tendency of 'candy' and light colors but bearing in mind that the shirt is ‘plain’ I added a necklace with some 'bling'. 

Really, and like I said before, this type of shirt is a must have in any closet. I can immediately imagine a look with some ripped jeans, a maxi necklace and these shoes. It is worth investing in a piece like this.

Depois de analisar o resultado 'fotográfico' destes dois looks devo dizer que gostei mais da 'ideia' do que do resultado. Mas a explicação para este facto é simples, quando comprei estas calças estava com uns quilinhos a menos, acho que me caiam melhor, mas nada que 'fechar a boca' durante uns tempos não cure. Na minha opinião este tipo de calças têm de assentar na perfeição, uma vez que o tecido não tem qualquer elasticidade.

 

Mas como sinto-me na 'obrigação' de escolher um escolheria o Total look por ser mais out of  the box, o que tem mais haver comigo. Gosto de um toque de irreverência sem ser overboard.

 

E vocês, arriscariam ou jogavam pelo seguro?

 

After reviewing the 'photographic' results of these two looks I must say that I liked the 'idea' more than the outcome. But the explanation for this is simple, when I bought these pants I was a few pounds lighter, I think they fitted me better.

In my opinion this kind of pants must fit perfectly, since the fabric has no elasticity.   But as I feel the 'obligation' to choose one, I would choose the Total look because it’s more out of the box, it has more to do with me. I Like a touch of irreverence without being overboard.

The Outcome - Sport Vs Suit

E aqui está o resultado da batalha Sport Vs Suit. Devo dizer que este esteve mais próximo daquilo que imaginava. Gostei da 'ideia' de os vestir e a verdade é que depois foi difícil escolher o preferido.

 

O primeiro look 'Sport' é um mix de tendências, o  sport chic,  P&B e o crop top. A escolha dos sapatos foi propositada, não queria um estilo demasiado 'desportivo', no entanto ficaria também muito bem com uns sapatos rasos ou mesmo ténis. Os saltos acho que são do tamanho perfeito, mais altos seria 'demasiado'. Estou apaixonada por este tipo de saltos, acho que com roupa curta ficam sexy q.b.

 

No segundo look joguei pelo 'seguro'. A combinação de cores, vermelho, preto e branco e as riscas da camisa torna o look mais 'clássico'. O tom 'formal' do look é quebrado apenas pelo skort em si, curto com corte assimétrico,  e pelo cumprimento desigual da blusa. Não queria um look demasiado 'sério' e acho que consegui.

 

And here’s the result of the Sport Vs Suit battle. I must say that these outfits were closer to what I imagined. I liked the ' idea ' of the looks and the truth is that after putting them on it was difficult to choose a favorite. 

The first look ' Sport ' is a mix of trends, sport chic, P&B and a crop top. The choice of shoes was on purpose, didn't want a style too ' sporty ', however it would look just as good with flat or even tennis shoes.  I think the heels have the perfect size, pumps would be ' too much '. I'm in love with this type of heels. I think that with short clothes they are ‘tastefully’ sexy.

On the second look I played it ‘safe '. The combination of colors, red, black and white, and the striped shirt make the look more ' classic '. The ' formal ' look is broken only by the skort itself, short with asymmetric cutting, and the uneven blouse. I didn't want to look too ' serious ' and I think I got it right.









Posto isto, depois de muita indecisão, acabei por escolher o look que tem mais haver comigo, pelo facto de ser menos 'previsivel'. 

 

Na minha opinião,  the winner is... Sport!

 

E vocês, concordam?

 

Having said that, after much indecision, I finally choose the look that has more to do with me, because it’s less ' predictable '.  

In my opinion, the winner is ... Sport!

The Outcome - Black Vs White

Esta ideia surgiu da arrumação do closet e a constatação de que possuo roupa muito parecida, com estilos semelhantes, cortes, padrões, cores, and so on...

Por isso este momento Outfit Battle veio para ficar! Principalmente porque me ajuda a perceber o que ainda quero ou não guardar, novas maneiras de conjugar peças e até vestir finalmente as peças que ainda não saíram do closet desde que as comprei.

Espero contar com a vossa ajuda!

I got this idea while cleaning the closet, I realized that I own very similar clothes, with similar styles, cuts, patterns, colors, and so on.  

So this Outfit Battle moment is here to stay! Mainly because it helps me understand what I still want to keep in my closet, new ways of combining parts and finally wearing clothes that haven't come out of the closet since I bought them.  

I'm counting on you to help me!

                  

Neste primeiro outfit battle escolhi o tema Black Vs White e não há dúvida que a roupa vestida é outra coisa. Quando fiz a preview apostava tudo no branco, pelos pormenores do vestido e pelo facto de ser menos previsível. A verdade é que depois de vestida escolhia com toda a certeza o preto. O branco faz-me mais larga e não define muito a silhueta. Adoro o pormenor dourado do vestido branco mas acho que o preto me assenta melhor, não só pela cor em si que é mais 'adelgaçante', mas também pelo tecido que é mais estruturado e com um corte mais definido. 

 

 No entanto em teoria o branco total continua a ser um charme! Menos previsível que o preto para uma ocasião mais formal, é perfeito para conjugar com acessórios Gold ou Silver, ou mesmo com outros tons ou padrões sem ´'chocar' demasiado. 

Tendo em conta que o branco é uma cor teoricamente menos 'flattering' que o preto, temos de apostar no corte e no tecido to make it work!

 

 

In this first outfit battle I chose Black Vs. White, and no doubt clothes do look different when dressed. When I made the preview I bet everything on white, because of the details of the dress and because it is less predictable to wear white. The truth is that once dressed I chose definitely black. White makes me wider and does not define the silhouette. I love the Golden detail on the white dress but I think black suits me better, not only because of the color itself which is more ' slimming ', but also because of the fabric that is more structured and with a more defined cut.   

 

However in theory the total white look continues to be a charm! As I said before, white is less predictable than black for a more formal occasion, is perfect to combine with Gold or Silver accessories, or even with other shades or patterns without ‘clashing’ too much.

 Bearing in mind that white is a color theoretically less ' flattering ' than black, we should pay attention to the cut and the fabric to make it work!  

 

E para mim, comparando os dois looks depois de vestidos,  The Winner is... BLACK! E Vocês, concordam?

 

In my opinion, after comparing  the two looks, the winner is… Black! Do you agree?
